Denim and lace have been two favorites of mine lately. I love each for obvious reasons. Denim is effortlessly cool while lace is the perfect mix of femininity and sophistication. When denim feels too casual or lace too formal for a certain occasion, I love to mix the fabrics. The mix-match appeal lays in that each can reinvent the other. Denim can make a lace dress totally wearable on weekends while lace can dress up denim for a special occasion. Either way, the combination is a winning one.

Today, I felt like making my white lace dress wearable for a sunny afternoon in Seattle. So, I opted to throw my Akira cropped patchwork denim jacket over my shoulders for added street style points. No wardrobe is complete without a denim jacket. This season, I might even go as far to say that no wardrobe is complete without a denim jacket featuring patches! While I wanted to wear heels, I opted for causal leather sandals and coordinating crossbody bag to keep the look feeling relaxed.
