Fall's Must-have Modern Lace Dress

I'm tapping into modern elegance today with a contemporary take on the classic shirt dress. Featuring a clean collar and all-over floral embroidery, this sheer lace dress was love at first sight. What I like most about the piece is how the intricate embroidery exudes a feminine-chic appeal, while the opaque lining adds an artistic edge that keeps the dress feeling contemporary in design.  With lace, it's easy to look somewhat old-fashioned or totally bohemian. Yet, the bold blue hue and sheer panels keep this dress feeling more edgy than proper. Together, the contrasting collar complemented by the sweet floral lace and flared skirt creates such a distinctive dress - and one I had to have!

I opted to pair the blue lapel contrast sheer mesh lace dress with a minimal amount of accessories. Playing up the grey in the dress, I added a suede and leather boot by Sam Edelman and round sunglasses with silver mirror lens by Ray-Ban. Both accessories dress-down the sophisticated lace dress. This makes for a total look that is totally doable during the day or a less formal itinerary.

While lace is currently my go-to for adding ladylike appeal to my fall wardrobe, it is also the perfect alternative for a stylish evening look.
