Ladylike in Lace
Lace and embroidered styles are two spring fashion trends that I am so looking forward to exploring this upcoming spring/summer season. Clearly I've already jumped the gun as spring doesn't officially arrive until later this month. However, the weather has been more than spring-like so I went for it! This spring, designers have truly pushed the versatility of lace by using it in a multitude of ways. From tiered to embroidered and so forth, I'm looking forward to mixing-up this classic textile in a zillion different ways before summer's end.
Today, I've opted to go head-to-toe in powder blue lace (pastel hues being another major trend this spring). The attention to detail is where this girly piece is a real winner. Together the tailored silhouette and sheer lace detailing at the bottom of the top and skirt create a fresh balance. While the fitted pencil skirt keeps the look feeling classic, the sheer hem and crop top add a dash of playful personality. Together the matching separates in pastel blue make for a very ladylike style that is ultra-feminine yet modern.
I can't end this post without mentioning the shoes! These Sam Edelman fringe sandals are a must-have for so many reasons. The fringe detail combined with the gold and neutral details makes for a very glamorous take on fringe heels this spring. Today I've dressed them up with this lace look but I can see them looking just as chic with a distressed boyfriend jean. More looks to come featuring these beauties I am sure!
