Cupcake Date in Washington, D.C.

While recently traveling to Washington, D.C. this past June, I had the pleasure of meeting up with my good friend (and local) Holly of petiteflowerpresents.com. The last time we had the opportunity of meeting in person (and not on Instagram) was back in February during New York Fashion Week. So, as you can imagine, we had lots to catch-up on! I had never visited Washington, D.C. before so it was also the perfect opportunity to get the local's guide to D.C.. While in-town, she showed me around the historic neighborhood of Georgetown and spoiled me at Georgetown Cupcake.

Situated along the Potomac River in northwest Washington, D.C., Georgetown boasts beautiful 18th and 19th century architecture, quaint shops, and local cafes and dining. While exploring Georgetown in Washington, D.C., you'll find contemporary, high-street style boutiques such as Zara, BCBG, Alice + Olive, J.Crew, Intermix and more. For anyone planning a visit, I definitely recommend hitting M Street and Wisconsin Avenue while in the neighborhood of Georgetown. Oh, and the Vanilla Birthday cupcake from Georgetown Cupcake (a classic madagascar bourbon vanilla cupcake topped with a traditional sweet vanilla buttercream frosting and rainbow sprinkles)!
