Into the Grey
Recently, I've been crushing on soft neutral colors such as tans and pastels. Well my interest in subdued colors continues today with the color grey. And, I have to say, it feels like the perfect palette cleanser for spring. Today, I've decided to layer-on subtle shades of grey for a soft yet perfectly refined look. Taking grey beyond JUST a top, pant, or a coat... wearing the color from head-to-toe feels so right. I've opted to pair my moto jacket in a grey woven tweed and wrap skirt romper with black and silver statement accessories for a heightened urban edge. The wrap skirt is amazing because it transitions into sporty shorts in the back - making the look very practical for any task, especially traveling! One major win for the color grey I'd have to say is that it is almost impossible to find shades of grey that clash, from steel and graphite to slate and smoke… it all works! Moreover, grey easily pairs with the colors silver and black, which makes accessorizing all too easy. One tip for wearing grey-on-grey, to avoid appearing to lack inspiration, is to add an element of emphasis. For example, if you are wearing a simple jacket, like me, drape it over your shoulders as a cape. Or, play with proportions and texture.
