The Long Vest
Just recently, I traveled to my hometown of Southern California to visit family for a few days. Fun fact, I was actually born in California, so most of my family members live throughout Orange County, CA. The jump from 45 to 80 degree weather allowed me to pack some of my favorite fall pieces that are on the lighter-side. Most of which I thought I had already tucked away until next season. Due to the warm weather, I probably could have gotten away with wearing a dress or breezy blouse. However, for it being December in California, I found this look featuring a sophisticated black cashmere long vest and sleeveless turtleneck to be the perfect fall outfit.
So, for a day of exploring a town I hadn't visited since I was little, Balboa Island, I opted to wear my sophisticated black cashmere long vest. The cashmere vest with its softly draped silhouette makes for an effortlessly stylish layering piece. I layered the vest over a off-white sleeveless turtleneck, opting to button my vest for added contrast. Together with the cashmere, the chunky knit turtleneck adds a level of sophistication overall to the two-tone look. Together with black denim jeans and my favorite black leather accessories (Chloe Drew handbag + Seychelles accordion ankle boots), this simple outfit felt contemporary in color and cut yet oh-so-luxe in texture (and to the touch).
