Hello! I am happy to report that I arrived home safely from my recent trip to Whistler, Canada. To say it was a relaxing, snow-filled winter wonderland of a vacation would be an understatement! Although I raved about how much I enjoyed Whistler while traveling there this past November, I have to say, Whistler is even better come winter. With everything covered in a foot or two of snow, the city becomes that much more magical! Whistler, with its vibrant ski scene and icicle-covered lodges, is truly what winter dreams are made of! So for anyone interested, January and February are both great months to travel to Whistler during.
While Whistler Village is truely picture-perfect. That is mostly thanks to below freezing temperatures (you can expect -5°C or 22°F average daily alpine temperatures during most of the winter months). It is easy to let the chilling temperatures get the best of me. Like - even get me to consider swapping everything fashionable I packed for basically anything that will actually keep me warm. I particularly like this jacket because the face-framming fur collar adds a touch of hollywood glam, yet is incredibly cozy (a.k.a. warm). And, I have to add, faux fur coats are just way more interesting than your basic puffer coat. For endless amounts of attitude, I wore the statement coat over skinny black pants and booties paired with retro sunglasses and fedora.
So as winter's peak quickly approaches, my advice is to start stocking up before the next deep freeze hits. Here are some of my current favorites:
